Shape IENE’s Future: Join the Governance Board or Scientific & Expert Committee (2026–2028)

Published the 26/05/2026 #elections

IENE is inviting its members to take an active role in shaping the organisation’s direction for the 2026–2028 term. Two parallel calls are now open: one for the Governance Board and one for the Scientific and Expert Committee. We encourage all eligible members to consider applying or to put forward a colleague.

GOVERNANCE BOARD ELECTIONS
IENE is opening its call for candidatures for 9 elected seats on the Governance Board (GB) for the 2026–2028 term, in addition to the three Founding Members holding permanent seats (the French Ministry for the Environment, the Swedish Transport Administration – Trafikverket, and the Dutch Ministry for Infrastructure and Water Management – Rijkswaterstaat).
The GB is responsible for the strategic leadership and governance of IENE. Membership is voluntary and involves monthly online meetings, active participation in task groups, and attendance at IENE conferences. No specific technical expertise is required — commitment to IENE’s mission is what matters most. Candidatures are open to all current IENE members in good standing. We particularly encourage applications from women, early-career professionals, and representatives of transport agencies, NGOs, consultancies, or private-sector organisations.
How to apply: Send a short CV and a motivation letter (max. 1 page) to info@iene.info by 5 June 2026. Elections will take place online via Balotilo between 8 and 30 June 2026.

CALL FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST — SCIENTIFIC & EXPERT COMMITTEE
IENE is also opening a call for expressions of interest to join the Scientific and Expert Committee (SEC) for the 2026–2028 term. The SEC is IENE’s advisory body, responsible for the quality and integrity of IENE’s knowledge outputs and for leading the implementation of its scientific and technical programme.
SEC membership is voluntary and involves bimonthly online meetings, participation in task groups, review of conference contributions and publications, and attendance at IENE conferences when possible. Applications are open to all IENE Full Members or Honorary Members in good standing with demonstrated expertise in fields relevant to infrastructure and ecology. The SEC composition should reflect the multidisciplinary and international character of IENE; applications from experts based outside Europe are also welcome.
How to apply: Send a short CV and a motivation letter (max. 1 page) to info@iene.info by 26 June 2026.
