IENE organisation overview
IENE is a non-profit, formalized network of experts active in the field of habitat fragmentation due to transport infrastructure. IENE is administered by an international coordinator employed by the organisation hosting the secretariat. IENE is governed by an elected Steering Committee and the General Assembly of members. During 2009, the network’s secretariat is hosted by the Swedish Biodiversity Centre (CBM), and financed by an international consortium of organisations in the sectors of transport and environment. IENE initiates and hosts different activities and projects such as annual meetings, biannual scientific conferences, workshops and research projects each lead by a designated and international working group. For more details see IENE statutes.
